89 Enterprises helps Variety Club
Mon, 24 Nov 2008The "Dukes of Hazard" car was once again part of the annual Variety Club Bash, winding its way through the Pilbara. Kicking off from Exmouth, more than 200 Bashers and 60 cars took part in the 3,800km event, visiting communities in Port Hedland, Tom Price, Marble Bar, Nullagine, Mt Augustus and more before finishing in Carnarvon.
The Variety Bashers presented more than $95,000 worth of educational and recreational equipment to individuals and regional community groups to help enrich the lives of children in need.
The "Dukes of Hazard" team of Anthony Begley, David McMahon, Rick Lombardo & John Gordon were in the top ten fundraisers this year raising $42,000. Rock legend Jimmy Barnes even joined the carnival on wheels, headlining a special Bash concert in Port Hedland.
89 Enterprises owner Anthony Begley along with wife Jayne have been supporters of The Variety Club since 1995, over 13 years and look forward to the Bash each and every year. Look out Uluru in 2009.
